Track and Field

I live next to the track on campus, so clearly I would go sneak in and not pay the five dollar fee. Clearly. That being said, I grabbed these photos. Got some hurdles and some running. Oh, and some jumpers.

Here are the jumpers. Triple jump so they didn't get massive air, but it was cool to watch.

That's all for now, stay tuned for more. Still haven't posted my theme yet.. Looking for pairs of objects etc. is actually harder than I first thought.

Photo Shoot

My first photo shoot involved my friend and her brother. She wanted photos for her mom for Christmas. Glad I could help with this, she told me that her mom loved the photos. That being said, the photo shoot turned out better than I thought. Check it!

This was in downtown Franklin, NC, and an interesting location to say the least. This was total improvisation on my part. The stairs added a dramatic affect. The next picture is a cool one, brother and sister.

Like that one a lot, this next one captures my friend's eyes really well. Like orbs almost.

Alright, maybe not orbs but I still like it. I want to have another photo shoot like this, anyone interested? Have a significant other you want photos with? Let me know, I can take the photos. Of course, that's if you attend Western. Let me know! Thanks!

Skin in the Dirt

Only one photo today, I think this is a great one though. Grabbed this one with my 50mm f/1.4 lens. Won't have a post tomorrow as I'll be taking a break, but I should have a post on Monday. Oh, and check out this girl's flickr, it's amazing. She attends my school, so I guess I should take a lesson.

It's Drag Bitches!

This show was total amateur but really good! Can't tell you names, but I know faces. My friends asked me to photograph this event, and I have to say that it turned out well. This is one of the start, show the stage and all.

It was a good set up in Illusions because it added stage for the performers to climb on. I enjoyed this for a small venue such as this, now the larger one with the professional drag you can't fit into this small room. Why they use the UC grand room. They only had a few performers, but they were good!

Then it got moving. Really really good stuff. Remember, I was asked to take photos and that's it. Could be worse? Nah, I had a good time. Here's a good showing of how interesting it got.

Another performer, I didn't catch his name (I'm horrible with names). He did a good job.

See their faces? Almost looked scarred and fascinated. Really cool to watch, see girls go crazy over drag. Maybe because women think that men understand how hard it is to wear a dress and walk in heels. One man was actually dancing and jumping in his heels. Wow. That being said, I know the judges were having a hell of a time.

My friend Kaleb was probably the best looking in my opinion. He strutted his stuff.

Throughout this whole thing the room was really hot, and I was leaning, bending over, and climbing up things to get the right shot. By the end I was dripping in sweat. However, glad I did climb, lean, and bend because I have a ton of great shots that I left out here.

Around Western

Random shots I have around Western's campus. This is one behind the Coulter building. Really interesting to make nothing into something. Love doing this.

Tree Behind Coulter

This is one of my friend's boyfriend. Takes a photo so gracefully. I mean look at the guy!

That's all for now, I'll upload some shots tomorrow. See what we have in store. I'm thinking about following a theme: pairs. You'll see.

First Photo

View from above

I've decided to use this as a photo blog, I don't want this to become stagnant. The challenge really is to keep taking photos and taking photos.
This photo is from the bridge about Hell's Hole. I really like this shot for the framing of the photo with the kayaker and the feature (Hell's Hole).

Bouncy

This one is neat and I like it a lot. Take a look. Hell's hole on the Ocoee.

Change it up!

I figure, I'm going to change it up a bit and really do something with this blog. I think a photo blog now. :) It'll keep me busy with this thing. Even at summer camp.
